MBTA Arborway Yard Chosen As Asian Beetle Wood Disposal Site

USDA and Massachusetts DCR officials said they will use the Arborway Yard MTBA bus depot in Jamaica Plain as the temporary home for a wood-grinding disposal station to combat recent Asian Longhorn Beetle infestation.

Blaze Destroys South St. House

Boston fire fighters battled a four-alarm blaze this morning at 133 South St., in Jamaica Plain that sent five firefighters and two people living at the house to the hospital. The firefighters suffered minor injuries and were expected to make a full recovery.   The residents condition were not available.

Sudden Summer Storm Soaks JP

A summer storm sunk portions of Jamaica Plain yesterday, causing flash floods roads, canceling T service in some areas and leaves roads throughout Greater Boston underwater.
